Solenergy Systems Inc. with Energy Development Corp. (EDC) and Gaisano Capital have commissioned the 1.03 megawatt (MW) solar rooftop system in Gaisano Capital Mall in La Paz, Iloilo City. Formally inaugurated last January 11, 2017, it is estimated to offset close to 840 metric tons of CO2 per year.
The 1MW solar rooftop at Gaisano Capital Mall covers 5,800 sqm of roof space and comprises of 3,680 photovoltaic (PV ) modules from Canadian Solar Inc. and string inverters from Austrian manufacturer Fronius International GmbH. Solenergy designed the system to feed in to the mall’s medium voltage grid connection. This required additional components such as protection devices which Solenergy also designed, provided, and installed. Construction to commissioning of the project was completed within 90 days. The system also features app-based remote monitoring capabilities. Apart from being an EPC provider, Solenergy was also tapped to provide O&M services to ensure maintenance and upkeep.
